Drama Therapy & self revelatory performance
Drama therapy is a unique healing modality that harnesses the power of performance, role play, narrative, and much more to support insight, empowerment, and transformation. (You can learn more about the broader field of Drama Therapy here.)
One of my early experiences as a drama therapist was at San Quentin Prison (training under Suraya Keating), where I had the opportunity to work alongside the "Men in Blue" as they took on Shakespeare and created autobiographical theatre based on their own lives. This work—along with my experience in acting, playwriting, and creative arts therapy—has strengthened my belief in the deep power of our stories; what it means to tell them, witness them, and transform them.
I work as a director, and also as a consultant for discovery-oriented arts projects of all kinds.
I especially love directing Self Revelatory Performances with graduating Drama Therapy M.A. students, so if you’re interested in exploring that please click below or reach out.
